GamesCom Opening Night Live has played host to a fresh trailer for Team NINJA‘s upcoming Ninja Gaiden 4 ahead of its highly anticipated release in October 2025.

Ninja Gaiden 4 is currently in development at Team NINJA and Platinum Games, and fuses the development philosophies of both studios, marrying the tempered combat the franchise is known for with Platinum’s trademark stylish, dynamic action. The game sees the return of legendary Ninja Gaiden swords master Ryu Hayabusa, who is joined by newcomer Yukmo, as he embarks on a quest to save a near-future Tokyo from cybernetic grunts and otherworldly monsters.
Ryu returns with a revamped but familiar set of tools at his disposal, with players able to utilise Bloodbind Ninjitsu to transform your weapons and dish out major punishment to your foes. Ninja Gaiden 4 promises to deliver the trademark, epic hack-‘n-slash combat the franchise is known for, with battles rewarding precision and strategy.
Ninja Gaiden 4 is due out for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on October 21, 2025.
