The latest issue of Japan’s Famitsu magazine has confirmed that former Xbox 360 exclusive slash ‘em up Ninja Gaiden II will be receiving a PlayStation 3 make over later this year.
According to the publication, the PS3 version will be helmed by Ninja Gaiden Sigma director, Yosuke Hayashi, and looks set to include both PlayStation Network support and exclusive bonus content.
It’s interesting to note that former Team Ninja head Tomonobu Itagaki wasn’t too impressed with the original Ninja Gaiden’s transition to Sony’s platform, commenting:
"All you need to do is play Ninja Gaiden II and then try and play Sigma afterwards and you’ll see why. Despite the fact that it’s on a ‘next-generation’ console there’s no evolution whatsoever. That was made not by me, but one of my sub-ordinates who basically tried to copy the success of Ninja Gaiden."
Ninja Gaiden Sigma II is currently 50 percent complete – stay tuned for further updates as they become available.
