Team Ninja announced at the Tokyo Game Show 2017 that Nioh Complete Edition will be released in Japan later this year.
The re-release of the critically acclaimed action-RPG includes the full game plus all downloadable content packs, namely Dragon of the North, Defiant Horror, and Bloodshed’s End.
Nioh Complete Edition will be released in Japan on November 7, 2017 as a digital download, and will see a physical release on December 7. The digital version comes with five additional weapons, while the physical release adds a mini soundtrack CD.
Bloodshed’s End is the final slice of DLC and will be released at the end of this month.
Developed by Team Ninja, who are best known for their work on the venerable Ninja Gaiden franchise, Nioh began life more than a decade ago and faced an arduous production cycle that saw multiple revisions of the project, before the studio finally settled on the game we know today.
Nioh combines hack-’n-slash combat with RPG elements set against the backdrop of a dark fantasy take on Japan in the year 1600, with players controlling a western Samurai named William.
Team Ninja has indicated that Nioh 2 could happen at some point, with the studio keen to capitalise on the original’s success.
