Tecmo Koei has rolled out Nioh update 1.07 for its PS4-exclusive action-adventure title to coincide with the launch of the Dragon of the North DLC pack

The update itself is pretty hefty, weighing in at approximately 6.3GB, although it adds a fair amount of content including support for the new DLC plus a PvP mode. If that wasn’t enough, Tecmo Koei also followed up this patch with Nioh update 1.08, which clocks in at 991MB and reduces the cost of skins for female characters by 20,000.

  • Added content for add-on 1
  • Added an online PvP mode
  • Expands functionality
  • Adjusted game balance
  • Fixes various bugs

Players can now grab Dragon of the North via the PlayStation Store £7.99/$9.99 or can nab it free if you have forked out for the Season Pass for Nioh.

Developed by Team Ninja, who are best known for their work on the venerable Ninja Gaiden franchise, Nioh began life more than a decade ago and faced an arduous production cycle that saw multiple revisions of the project, before the studio finally settled on the game we know today. Nioh combines hack-’n-slash combat with RPG elements set against the backdrop of a dark fantasy take on Japan in the year 1600, with players controlling a western Samurai named William.

From what we’ve heard, a Nioh 2 release is possible later down the line although nothing official has been confirmed at this point.
