The developer behind Fallout: New Vegas is chiselling away on a ‘unique next generation game.’
Obsidian Entertainment is also hiring for new workers with a passion for RPG and action games, fuelling speculation that a new Fallout title could be on the horizon.
Spotted by OXM, the job listing is for a level designer and highlights responsibilities including “planning and populating missions/quests, scripted sequences, encounters, challenges and rewards.”
“Experience working on games with role playing elements” is cited as a preference.
In addition, OXM notes that a next-generation title has been listed on Obsidian art director Rob Nesler’s online CV for a while now, and has been working on the mystery title for just over a year.
The game appears as “Unannounced, Next-Gen Console title.”
It’s worth noting that Obsidian chief Feargus Urquhart previously expressed interest in developing a sequel to Fallout New Vegas, as well as pitching a new Star Wars title to Disney.
We’ll have more on Obsidian’s future plans as they develop.
