Square Enix has announced that it will release a free Octopath Traveler 0 update later this year with a couple of key additions for the game. More info will be shared at a later date, but here’s what we know so far.
- A New Formidable Foe Appears in the Monster Arena – To all you veteran travelers who have grown too strong (thanks to those Nuts), a certain formidable foe will return, stronger than ever before. Take on an enhanced Capture battle, then face an Arena battle that is far more formidable. Can you overcome this trial? (Editor’s Note: The silhouette is Amatsukami no Orochi.)
- A New Resident Arrives in Town – Phenn in Wishvale has received a letter of introduction for a new resident. It seems they are an “adventurer” from another world… (Editor’s Note: The silhouette is Elliot from The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales.)
Octopath Traveler 0 launched in December 2025 for PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S. The game includes over 30 recruitable party members, with players able to form parties of eight characters. The combat utilises the break and boost battle system and turn-based battles of previous games, while the main story can take up to 100 hours to complete without tackling any side activities.
