Once Human, a free-to-play multiplayer post-apocalyptic survival game developed by Starry Studio, is coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on August 25, the studio announced today. The game was originally released for the PC in July 2024 and arrived the following year on iOS and Android.
Once Human finds the world on its last legs after an extraterrestrial substance, known as Stardust, has infected all life — plants, animals, even the air we breathe. However, while most humans couldn’t survive, Meta-Humans — of which you are a part of — harness the power of Stardust to fight back and attempt to rebuild the world. Players must battle across a sprawling 256 km² seamless map, which is comprised of frozen tundras, active volcanoes, raging rivers, and treacherous swamps. You goal is simple: survive.
Everything from animals to objects have been transformed into monstrous creatures thanks to Stardust, which have since taken over the world. As a Meta however, you can turn the tables and become the hunter, with the Deviants now your prey. To aid your survival efforts, players can build a base anywhere in the wilderness, customise your hideout, and store your loot while defending it with deadly traps and weapons.
