Much to the disappointment of some fans of the Metal Gear Solid series, the original voice actor for Solid Snake, David Hayter, was axed for Metal Gear Solid 5 in favour of Hollywood star Kiefer Sutherland. However, Hayter could be back working on something relating to the rugged hero once again.
Via Twitter, Hayter has posted a sample of a Codec Call between Snake and Colonel Campbell with the hashtag #SnakeMystery, along with the words: “what’s the meaning of this?” and “why am I back in this booth?”
Colonel,
What’s the meaning of this? Why am I back in this booth?#SnakeMystery@4pauleiding pic.twitter.com/ma9fJncbVv

Considering Konami is no longer working on console titles, it seems unlikely it’s a return to the main franchise for Hayter, and we can rule him out of the fan-made original Metal Gear Solid rehash, which was canned last week.
Consequently, this mystery leaves us stumped. Any ideas?
