Starbreeze Studios has announced that Overkill’s The Walking Dead release has been delayed until 2018, marking the second major delay for the upcoming zombie survival title.
Originally announced in 2014, the game was pegged for a 2016 release but was later delayed to 2017. However, Starbreeze said that in order for the project to reach its full potential, the decision has been made for The Walking Dead to be ‘postponed until the second half of 2018’.
Not much is known about Overkill’s The Walking Dead at present, other than it’s going to be a shooter with co-op elements featuring new characters and storylines. The game will be the third title based on the series created by Robert Kirkman, following Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead episodic franchise and the critically panned The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct from Terminal Reality.
