Activision Blizzard revealed during its latest financial results that Overwatch 2 drummed up a staggering 35 million players during its first month.
Over 35 million people played the game in its first month, including many who were new to Overwatch. The expanded community is engaging deeply, with average daily player numbers for the first month of Overwatch 2 more than double that of its acclaimed predecessor.
Player investment is also off to a strong start, positioning the title to be a meaningful contributor to Blizzard‘s business in the fourth quarter.
By comparison, the original Overwatch attracted 15 million players in three months following its release in May 2016, and passed the 35 million milestone by October 2017.

Overwatch 2 is currently available as a free-to-play title on PS4, PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, having launched in Early Access at the beginning of October.
