Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that it will be implementing the much-requested Overwatch deathmatch mode into its celebrated shooter.
The game will be receiving both a free-for-all deathmatch and team deathmatch mode, plus a brand new map, Chateau Guillard, to complement the new modes.
As you’d expect, this is classic deathmatch mayhem: The first player to hit 20 kills in free-for-all wins, while the first side to nab 30 kills in the team-based events will claim victory.
The Overwatch deathmatch mode is now available on the Public Test Realm for PC users, although it will soon be making its way to PS4 and Xbox One, as typically new content is released a few weeks after they are rolled out on the PTR.
In the meantime, the Overwatch Summer Games event is currently taking place, so there’s plenty of content to tuck into while you wait for the deathmatch modes to arrive on consoles. Be sure to check out some of the best new skins here.
