Developer Pocketpair has confirmed that Palworld will leave Early Access in 2026. The release will include a substantial update for version 1.0. Communications director John ‘Bucky’ Buckley explained that content updates will slow down for the rest of the year. This pause allows the team to fix quirks and polish the game ahead of the official release.
Since its initial launch, Palworld has received five major updates. Version 0.2 introduced Raids, while 0.3 added the new Sakurajima island. Feybreak Island arrived in 0.4, crossplay in 0.5, and a collaboration with Terraria in 0.6. Each update expanded the game and improved its mechanics.
As a result, Pocketpair plans a “massive update” for version 1.0 in 2026. Buckley stressed that laying a solid foundation now will ensure a better experience later. Players can expect improvements in gameplay, systems, and quality-of-life features. The team wants to deliver a polished product from day one.
As development focuses on refinement, content updates will temporarily slow. However, the 1.0 release promises significant new features and enhancements. Fans can expect a more refined and polished game. Overall, Pocketpair aims to make the official launch a strong milestone for the title.
