Grinding Gear Games has previewed the upcoming Path of Exile 2 update 0.1.1, which is due to launch this week and will come packing a range of highlights including some major endgame content.
Jonathan Rogers, the game’s director, reveals in the video posted below that maps have been balanced so that they are now more rewarding to explore, with the likes of creatures, chests, essences, and more all tweaked to improve the user’s experience. In addition, Path of Exile 2 is adding for new towers to spice up variety, with the existing tower map having been “redone” in order to “make playing there less boring.”

Elsewhere, Grinding Gear Games is adding improvements to visibility of attack effects, strongboxes will spawn monsters much faster than before, the Atlas’ zoom level has been buffed, and various terrain collision issues have been ironed out.
Past of Exile 2 is currently in Early Access for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S and like its predecessor takes the form of a RPG dungeon crawler viewed from an isometric perspective. The sequel implements a new skill system featuring 240 active skill gems and 200 support gems, and the Early Access period includes six of the 12 planed character classes — Warrior, Monk, Mercenary, Sorceress, Witch, and Ranger.
