Penny Arcade and RedPop have announced that PAX East 2021 has been cancelled, and will instead be replaced by PAX Online this summer.
PAX Online is scheduled to run July 15 – 18, although PAX East is set to make a comeback in Boston in 2022. Furthermore, organisers are remaining optimistic that PAX West and PAX Unplugged will still go ahead as planned this September and December, respectively.
PAX East 2021 is one of the many casualties of the coronavirus pandemic, although many countries are now battling back with the vaccine rollout. However, due to public health concerns, it has been decided that this year’s event will not take place, and there for organisers did not go ahead and sell any tickets or space to exhibitors.
Nonetheless, the press release states that PAX Online hopes to build on the success of last year’s event, which smashed record and plans to reveal more details on it soon enough.
