So what is The Tomorrow Children all about?
Based in an alternative Soviet Union, set in the not too distant future, you are given the order of returning civilization to a hospitable world. You gather resources, build towns and defend your townspeople from monsters. Whilst this mixture of gameplay might not sound amazing to everyone, The Tomorrow Children is definitely set to change the mechanics of games forever!

Voxel cone, ray tracing and global illumination are terms not many of us will have heard of, unless you are a games developer or 3D Modeler! But in layman’s terms the lighting and shadows in TTC will render like real world physics, with light bouncing off every surface as if it is its own entity, reflecting that light to create a realistically lit world. This technology is on the same scale of Until Dawn’s facial mapping, which has allowed Supermassive Games to make beautiful looking characters. It’s great to see Sony taking the next step into creating realistic looking worlds, and now with the PS4 Neo looming just around the corner it’s an exciting time to see what can be achieved with that extra bit of power.

The Tomorrow Children will initially release on September 6 in the US for those buying the early access pack. The free-to-play version release date has yet to be announced.
