Starbreeze has announced that it will be hosting a PayDay 3 Closed Beta test from August 2 – 7, although sadly right now it’s only coming to PC and Xbox Series X/S, which means PS5 players are out of luck.
There’s plenty of details about the Closed Beta itself, but there isn’t any info on why the taster isn’t coming to PlayStation consoles. Any progress you make during the beta won’t be carried over to the final version of the game regardless of what platform you are playing on.
At this point there’s still a small chance we might get another beta before release, and that it will be open to PS5 owners this time around. Nothing has been announced yet however, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
Set after the ending of Payday 2, this new entry in the first-person shooter series takes place mostly in New York City and sees the original crew from Payday: The Heist are returning, with the game set in modern times to take advantage of the new technology.
Payday 3 is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on September 21, 2023.
