Payday 3 developer Starbreeze Studios has issued an apology for the delayed release of the game’s first major PS5 update, which has still yet to arrive over a month after the game’s release.
We’ve been quiet over the last few days, and for that, we apologize. It’s not easy to communicate when we have not been able to offer updates on the one big topic on everyone’s mind right now: When are the patches coming to PAYDAY 3? Despite our silence, we want to assure you that the team is still working on our main priority, which is to get the patch we promised out to you and to ensure our patching process allows us to continue publishing them at a steady cadence in the future.
The studio added that the first update has been sent to testing and certification, and explained the delay is down to the team finding “critical errors with our update pipeline shortly after the game released.” It’s also taking on board feedback regarding the progression system, and said its designers are “looking at how the system can be adapted to balance both the challenge system as well as offering infamy points for each heist.”
Payday 3 launch for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on September 21, 2023.
