Atlus today announced Persona 5 and Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold for PlayStation 3.
The new Persona 4 installment is a sequel to Persona 4: Arena, whereas Persona 5 is expected to be a traditional role-playing game. The former had already been announced for Japanese arcades but will be released on consoles next summer (via Destructoid). Meanwhile, Persona 5 will be released in Winter 2014. Neither have a Western release announced at this time.
The announcements were made on a Japanese live stream broadcast on Japanese video website Nico Nico Douga and on screens in city centers across Japan, according to Game Revolution.
Fans will most likely be excited about Persona 5 since several years have gone by since a main entry in the series. The original PlayStation 2 version of Persona 4 saw a Western release back in December 2008.
The Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series is a spin-off from the Megami Tensei RPG franchise, which began in 1987.
