Atlus has polished off a new video for the upcoming Persona 5: The Royal, this time in the form of Morgana’s Report 1, which offers a more detailed look at some of the new features in the revamped PlayStation 4 JRPG.
Persona 5: The Royal Video Explores New Character Kasumi And More
One of the main attractions of this latest Persona 5: The Royal video is Kasumi, a new character being introduced with the game who transfers to Shujin Academy and joins up with the Phantom Thieves. In addition, we also get a look at Takuto Maruki, a new confidant, and the school’s third semester.
Persona 5: The Royal is an updated version of 2017’s critically acclaimed JRPG, and is slated for release in Japan later this year and arrives in the US and UK in 2020. As mentioned, the new semester is featured, which will surely add a significant dollop of new content to an already-meaty adventure, so there’s plenty of reason to revisit the game if you’ve already played it. Well, that is, assuming you don’t mind waving goodbye to your social life for a few months. I tried that with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion; it didn’t end well.
The original version of Persona 5 launched for PS3 and PS4 in Japan in September 2016, before turning up for PS4 only in the US and UK in April the following year. The game achieved over two million sales worldwide, making it the best-selling entry in the Megami Tensei franchise — not too shabby for a franchise that isn’t exactly mainstream.
Morgana’s Report 1 will be followed by another video next month, so we won’t have to wait long to get another dive into the world of Persona 5: The Royal. Check out Morgana’s Report 1 below.
