Atlus PS4-exclusive Persona 5 has debuted at no.1 on the U.K. All Format Chart following its worldwide debut on April 4.
The critically acclaimed JRPG title is not only Atlus’ first no.1 hit in the country since 2013’s Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, but also the biggest debut for a Persona game in the U.K. to date. Read our Persona 5 review to find out what we made of the latest entry in the long-running high school-based franchise.
Originally released in Japan back in September 2016, Persona 5 has been a long time coming, with Atlus initially planning on shipping the game as far back as 2014. Still, it’s been worth the wait, and consumers obviously agree as the game has managed to ship 1.5 million copies worldwide to date.
Sadly, Mass Effect Andromeda’s fortunes fell precipitously in just its second week on the market, with the sci-fi RPG falling from first place to no.5, while Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands managed to hold at no.2 despite a lukewarm reception.
