Today, Konami took another giant step to try to take FIFA’s raining market share in the soccer game industry. With another surprising push, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 arranged licensing agreements with the following teams that were previously unavailable under their actual names:
Clubs:
Newcastle
Tottenham
RSC Anderlecht
HJK Helsinki
IFK Goteborg
Panathinaicos
Spartak Moscow
Fenerbache
NK Dinamo Zagreb
FC Basel
National Teams:
Brazil
Portugal
Greece
Scotland
Ireland
Jon Murphy, PES team leader, stated that, "Konami has worked hard to bolster the number of licensed clubs in PES 2008, and the new additions represent a huge step forward for the series." Fans of soccer games have been clamoring more and more in the direction of PES and with additions like this the support is justified.
In closing Murphy said, "We listen very closely to what people want from the series, and hope these new additions further extend PES 2008’s reputation within both die-hard football fans and newcomers alike," and we at PSU think this notion of fan favorite could be right on the money.
