PES 2015 to be locked at 1080p/60fps on PS4, Xbox One version uncertain

Pro Evolution Soccer 2015, the latest iteration in the Konami-developed soccer series, will be locked at 1080p and 60 frames per second on PlayStation 4.

Speaking with VideoGamer, Konami’s European Brand Manager, Adam Bhatti, confirmed that the game’s first build was performing at the benchmark with no hiccups or stutters reported – a welcome sign that the game’s development is going swimmingly ahead of its release later this year.

However, Senior Creative Producer, Naoya Hatsumi, was coy as to whether or not Microsoft’s Xbox One would be able to scale the same heights reported for the PS4 version:

"At the current development stage we’re in – which is just under 70 per cent complete – we still have a lot of work on game balance and some of the gameplay elements are just much more visible on what we want to deliver… We thought that would be able to be conveyed best through a PS4 at this stage, but we are definitely working on the Xbox One [and] all other platforms in parallel to the PS4 edition."

Pro Evolution Soccer’s incessant rival, the EA-backed FIFA series, achieved a similar technical feat when it launched on PS4 late last year, with a full 1080p and 60fps from the get-go.

Konami’s newest soccer sim will be hitting PS4 later this year, with the promise of ‘’additional platforms’’ to follow soon after.
