Shingo Takatsuka, Producer of Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer series, has stated that there were many features he wished to include in the PlayStation 3 version of PES 2008, but due to time constraints was unable to implement them.
Speaking with CVG, Takatsuka said, "Well I’m satisfied in that in the time frame we had, we were able to finish the code and release it on time, but that’s only really within that time frame.”
"When I look at the capacity of what the PS3 can do, I feel very strongly that there’s loads of things that I wanted to do, but I couldn’t do them in this version."
Elsewhere, he hinted at fundamental changes in the development process of the series, such as focusing predominantly on next-generation platforms: "We’ve already started operations on this", he revealed.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is due out in North America next Spring, with a European release coming October 26.
