SEGA has announced that Phantasy Star Online 2 will be coming to PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2016.
Originally released on PC in 2012, the free-to-play online RPG later arrived on PlayStation Vita and was released in Southeast Asia via Asia, a MMO publisher based in Bangkok, Thailand.
Unfortunately, SEGA has yet to confirm a western release for the PS4 version of Phantasy Star Online 2, although the game itself has English language options. However, Asiasoft has put an IP block in place to prevent those outside Southeast Asian territories from accessing to the game’s servers.
The original Phantasy Star Online was released on the Sega Dreamcast in 2001 and later ported to GameCube, PC and Xbox.
