It’s been a long, arduous time in coming – too long, we say – but the wait’s almost over: the closed beta for the PlayStation 4 version of Sony Online Entertainment’s free-to-play MMO-FPS PlanetSide 2 is coming January 20.
Speaking on Sony’s official U.S. PlayStation Blog, Executive Producer Clint Worley broke the much-hoped-for news, relaying his excitement about the launch of PS4’s first massively-multiplayer-online shooter. And while the console version has underwent a plethora of much-noted delays and refinements – having also been on PC for just over two years – the light’s certainly at the end of the tunnel now.
Most importantly, gamers have to sign up with their email addresses via the PlanetSide 2 official website to be in with a chance of making it in – be wary , mind, the invites will be coming out in chronological order – so get registering!
Players who make the cut will also be privy to a special beta forums, where they can give feedback about the experience as well as engage with the developers themselves.
