Sony Online Entertainment has confirmed that Planetside 2 for PlayStation 4 has passed its certification process, with a release date for the hotly anticipated beta session now a matter of days away.
The game was originally due to kick off its beta process in December, though obviously that failed to materialize.
However, according to SOE boss John Smedley, we’ll find out when the beta will launch in a matter of days:
we will be announcing the beta start date in the next few days for Planetside 2 on PS4.

the announcement will also explain our rollout plans, etc.

Planetside 2 will be free-to-play when it eventually launches and takes the form of an MMO shooter.
