Earlier this summer Sony and its gaming division, PlayStation, discontinued all forms of advertising on social media platforms owned by Facebook.
It was in connection with the campaign to support the removal of hate content and disinformation, that PlayStation made the decision to join the #StopHateForProfit movement. Not being alone in this fight, as Coca-Cola and Starbucks have also withdrawn their advertising commitments from Facebook social platforms, PlayStation pledged not to post again until at least the end of July.
It is today that this break has ended and the manufacturer has summarized its activities on online platforms. Not having wasted a second, PlayStation immediately took the opportunity to advertise the PlayStation 5 and its launch, over the holiday season, later this year across Facebook social platforms.
