Sony Interactive Entertainment looks set to launch the PlayStation Direct store in European regions, with a job listing revealing the company is on the lookout for a director to helm the store. The store allows you to order a PS5 directly from Sony outside of the US, rather than going to a third-party outlet.
The lob listing reads as follows:
[…] We are looking to build on the successful launch of the new direct-to-consumer business in the US with the launch in Europe. […] this role will be responsible for the European sales strategy and delivering the sales targets of the direct to consumer hardware business in Europe.

The PlayStation Store & Services (PlayStation Plus, PlayStation Now,..) businesses have continued to deliver substantial growth and represents a significant proportion of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s overall revenues as well as approximately 15% of Sony’s revenues.
Sony launched the PS Direct store in the US in September 2019, so it’s good to see it finally coming to Europe. The PS5 was released in the US on November 12 and Europe on November 19.
