PlayStation India Hero Project Will Unveil Its First Batch Of PS5 Games In The First Half Of 2024

Sony has announce during the India Game Developer Conference that it will unveil the first slew of PS5 games to be developed with help from its India Hero Project within the first few months of 2024.

Hector Fernandes, the format holder’s head of third-party division, and Indie Hero Project Program Manager, Sujith Sukumaran, revealed that the initiative will be ready to unveil the first batch of games between February and April next year, having been busy playing demos and accept proposals.

Here’s what Sukumaran had to say on the matter:

With this project, we want to showcase the talent of Indian developers to the world. We want to appeal to people in India to fully support their development and showcase their games to the world. We also want to offer developers the skills and know-how that Sony has cultivated around the world and the experience of developing commercially successful games for consoles.

Meanwhile, Fernades:

It’s all about the program, from how to commercialize and raise funds, to how to support and train game developers. What we understand and learn is something we carried over from the China Hero Project.

Sony announced the India Hero Project back in May 2023, and is a new initiative by the PlayStation manufacturer to help out indie studios in India by offering funding support and the means to access PlayStation developer expertise and resources.
