PlayStation Move ships over 10 million globally

Sony’s confirmed that it has shipped 10.5 million PlayStation Move units to retailers worldwide.

Speaking at GDC this week, Sony’s field developer support engineer Gabe Ahn didn’t divulge any sales figures for the waggle stick, though did say the platform holder considers Move “successful” and has major plans for the device.

The motion-sensing peripheral was unveiled at E3 2009 before launching in fall 2010. Since then, a wide variety of games have supported the device, including Killzone 3 and Resistance 3.

Microsoft’s own foray into motion-sensing game, Kinect, has sold 18 million units globally, though the figure includes console bundles as well as individual units.
