According to VGNewsinsider on Twitter, Sony Interactive Entertainment is set to resurrect an ‘extremely popular franchise,’ and what’s more, the game is already a long way into development.
The tipster, who according to folk on Reddit has a solid track record, is set to arrive on the scene in the fourth quarter of this year.
PlayStation rumoured to announce the return of an ‘extremely popular’ franchise in Q4 2022[,] with the game[‘]s development rumoured to be ‘around 70% complete’.

That’s about all we know right now, but there’s plenty of room for speculation as to what the game could be. There’s a number of much-loved franchises that have been gathering dust at PlayStation HQ, including Jak & Daxter, SOCOM, Sly Cooper, and inFAMOUS, so it could be any of those.
Sony hasn’t said anything about this mystery IP they’re reviving, so we’ll just have to wait and see if anything materialises.
