Sony revealed PlayStation VR will launch in October 2016 and will be priced $399.99 in the US, £349.99 in the UK, and €399 in Europe at a special keynote presentation at the Game Developers Conference 2016.
The basic package does not include the required PS4 camera (needed for positional tracking) nor any PlayStation Move wand controllers. In North America however, there will be a PlayStation VR bundle with both the PS4 camera and a PS Move wand controller, according to Sony Computer Entertainment President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida. No price has been given for the bundle yet.
Sony announced more than 230 developers are working on projects for PlayStation VR. Over 50 games are expected to be released for PlayStation VR between the launch in October and the end of 2016. PlayRoom VR, containing 6 mini-games, will be available as a free download at launch.
