PlayStation Vue will launch in Q1 2015, Kazuo Hirai, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this week.
Speaking at the event, Hirai said that Vue is poised to "reinvent the television viewing experience,” with the cloud-based service offering consumers easy access to live events, past TV show episodes, and films.
Select PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 owners were given a taste of the service via an invite-only beta last November in New York.
While PlayStation Vue has now been confirmed for a Q1 2015 release, it remains unknown how much the service will cost when it eventually rolls out. Stay tuned to PSU for more details.
