The Internet is abuzz today with a suspected trailer of Team ICO’s Project Trico. The Japanese studio, led by designer Fumito Ueda, brought us such hit PlayStation 2 games as ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. If the trailer is authentic, we can at least expect a visually impressive game.
A trailer for Project Trico, the working title for the studios third game (the first on the PlayStation 3), was leaked by PlayStation LifeStyle. The trailer opens with a chain leading down into what appears to be a well. Ominous multi-colored eyes peer through the darkness, followed by a young boy being chased by a griffin-like creature. It seems this creature is the boy’s friend, in a similar vein Falkor from The NeverEnding Story. The preview certainly carries elements of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.

UPDATE: We’ve spoken to an SCEA representative who declined to comment on the above trailer (albeit did so rather nicely), so it appears that we’ll have to wait until E3 to hear more about Team ICO’s elusive third project.
