PS Plus August – South America loses out

South American PlayStation Plus subscribers will likely be a little disappointed to learn their free games lineup for August 2017 does not include Square Enix’s Just Cause 3.

The open-world adventure sequel forms part of the North American and European PS Plus free games lineup for next month, but has been replaced in South America by Strike Vector EX, space-themed dogfighting game developed by Ragequit Corporation.

It’s not all bad news though. South American PS Plus owners will still be able to snap up the excellent Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry, which builds on the story of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag some 15 years after Edward Kenway’s seafaring adventures on PlayStation 4.

Once again, it’s worth remembering to take advantage of the PlayStation Plus July free games before the expire, as you still have time to grab them.

PS Plus is a subscription-based service that offers free games and other content on a monthly basis. Launched in 2010 for the PS3, the service initially did not require you to sign-up for in order to enjoy online multiplayer gaming, though this changed with the launch of PS4. Still, for just £39.99 per year it’s more than worth the asking price.

Sony is also offering a free PS Plus theme to mark the seventh anniversary of the subscription-based service.
