PS Store Users Spot New Wallet Credits Listing, Could Be Possible Replacement For PS Stars

A new feature known as Wallet Credits has been spotted on the browser version of the PlayStation Store, leading to speculation among users that this could be a new feature Sony is introducing soon to replace the soon-to-be-closed PlayStation Stars program.

Wallet Credits current hasn’t been announced by Sony and there’s no further details as to what it could be, but presumably it’s a system where you’ll earn credit for purchases allowing you to use them as funds later on. Again, we’ll just have to wait to see what Sony has up its sleeves, but it’s not hard to imagine they would want to introduce something else to replace PS Stars.

Sony announced in May 2025 that PlayStation Stars would be closing down completely on November 2, 2026, but will remain open until that date. However, on July 23, 2025, players were no longer able to earn Digital Collectibles, Points, and level up their status, but you can still redeem current points until the closure date. So, technically PS Stars is still around, but only for a limited time and has been greatly reduced from its original incarnation.

The final collectible for PS Stars was released on July 17, 2025, with Sony posting the following message to members: “PlayStation Stars may be ending, but your loyalty and support will forever live in our hearts. Thanks for three years of great games, fun challenges, and exciting Digital Collectibles!”
