PS Vita sales continue to dwindle in Japan

Japanese sales of Sony’s PlayStation Vita continue to take a tumble in its native Japan, with sales of the handheld dropping 57 percent for the week ended January 15.

The handheld sold approximately 18,361 units and again finds itself in the shadow of PlayStation Portable, which moved just north of 22,000 units. It’s worth pointing out, however, that hardware sales fell across the board in comparison to the previous week.

3DS again took the top spot with 100,668 units sold, with its nearest competitor being the PlayStation 3, which moved just over 30,000 consoles.
