Sony has revealed that a new system software update for the PlayStation 3 will be readily downloadable—and optional—for North American (U.S. and Canada) residents by the end of tonight.
In case you don’t want to waste your precious gaming time downloading and installing this minor update, you won’t need to; this optional update only “improves certain aspects of system software” and isn’t needed to log into PlayStation Network.
