Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is being developed with Sony’s PlayStation 3 as the lead platform, Platinum Games has confirmed.
The news comes via producer Atsushi Inaba following clips from yesterday’s vidoc showing the game being controlled via Xbox 360.
However, it appears Platinum Games merely uses a 360 pad to test the game on the PC it utilizes for multi-platform game development.
“So, in closing, Metal Gear Rising’s lead platform is also PlayStation 3,” confirmed Inaba on Twitter.
Platinum Games has used Sony’s console as the lead platform for its games since Vanquish, following criticism of the handling of the PS3 version of Bayonetta, which suffered from various technical hiccups.
Metal Gear Rising was originally announced at E3 2009 with Kojima Productions on board as developer. However, the game resurfaced at the Spike VGAs over the weekend with Platinum Games now at the helm.
The game’s due out in 2012 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
