PS3 lead platform for Thor: God of Thunder

During SEGA’s recent Marvel superhero showcase event in New York City, Liquid Entertainment’s Andrew Rubino confirmed to PSU that PlayStation 3 was the lead development platform for Thor: God of Thunder.

"PS3 was our main SKU," said Rubino, combat designer on Thor: God of Thunder. "We wanted to make sure it ran equally on PS3 [and] Xbox — I know historically there were some problems with that."

The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Thor run on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3 technology, which Liquid Entertainment used for its previous game, Rise of the Argonauts.

"It works well on both systems, and we have 3D on both systems," continued Rubino. "I think [playing the game on] either console would be a great experience."

Thor thunders into stores on April 29, 2011 in Europe and May 3, 2011 in North America.
