Data released by Nintendo has revealed that the PlayStation 3 has remained the best-selling home console in Europe throughout 2011.
According to the data, as of week 40 (beginning October 3, 2011) Sony’s flagship console had sold nearly three million units in the region, while figures for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii stood at the two million mark.
Across the pond however, the NPD Group has revealed PS3 is being beaten by Xbox 360, with Microsoft’s platform flogging 3.5 million units while both PS3 and Wii have sold roughly one million units less than Xbox 360.
