PS3 tops Japanese hardware charts

Sony’s PlayStation 3 has muscled its way to the top of the Japanese hardware charts after a lengthy absence, thanks largely to the release of SEGA’s Yakuza 4.

The console managed to shift just north of 50,000 units, surpassing both the PSP and Wii, which sold 38,017 and 31,101 units each, respectively. Previous weeks have seen the charts largely dominated by PSP, which has successfully outsold the Wii on a monthly basis for some time now. Check out the full list below.
