Tom Clancy’s EndWar developer Ubisoft Shanghai has admitted it would have liked to include cross platform play between the upcoming PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 strategy title, but came to the conclusion it was “impossible” due to the fact Sony and Microsoft "don’t like speaking to each other.”
Speaking to Videogamer.com, the company’s Editorial Content Director, Julian Gerighty, commented: "I wish we could play cross-platform,” adding, “That would be nice. It’s impossible. Sony and Microsoft don’t like speaking to each other."
Due out later this year, EndWar takes place in the near future during the midst of World War III, with players able to chose to side with North America, Europe or Russia. The game can be played entirely through voice communication.
Recently Ubisoft announced that the Tom Clancy franchise has sold over 50 million units worldwide since the series debuted ten years ago.
