Ubisoft Montreal has clarified what additional content players can expect from the PlayStation 4 version of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
The historical action-adventure sequel is due out on both current and next-generation systems, though it has been known for some time now that the PS4 version will boast some additional goodies – though quite what has remained unknown until now.
Speaking with GamingBolt.com, creative director Jean Guesdon revealed that gamers can look forward to various graphical enhancements to accentuate player immersion.
“The PS4 version does not have any extra game content per se,” he said.
“Graphics, obviously, will be improved to give you a more immersive feeling: leaves and plants move with the wind, waves feel even more lifelike, sails billow in the wind, etc. Other than that, we do support the PS4 touchpad and Vita Remote Play, which means you will be able to play AC4 on your Vita through your PS4.”
He added: “You will definitely feel the effects of our tropical storms, and of the wind blowing in your sails. That is what I was referring to when I was saying that the improved graphics helped us increase immersion. Wind is such an important element in the pirate fantasy that we made sure a lot of thought was put behind its representations in our game.”
Assassin’s Creed IV takes place during the early 1700s during the Golden Age of Piracy. Players control Edward Kenway, father of Haytham and grandfather of Connor from ACIII, in a swashbuckling adventure that sees you plundering you way across the Caribbean and rubbing shoulders with the likes of Blackbeard and other famous faces.
