Ubisoft has shed more light on the exclusive content featured in the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of upcoming stealth-action sequel, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
The French publisher previously confirmed that the PlayStation versions of the pirate-themed title would include one hour of exclusive content starring Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation heroine, Aveline de Grandpre.
Ubisoft has now confirmed that this content will take place over three missions, and will feature an older Aveline and has been described as a ‘short story’ by lead writer, Darby McDevitt.
Said McDevitt: “It’s a ways forward so Aveline is a bit older. It’s not directly related to the end of her story. If Assassin’s Creed IV is like a novel, Aveline’s missions are like a short story.”
"The present-day is set in Abstergo Entertainment – which is this fun, hip company to work for… at first. You are able to access the Aveline stuff because your coworkers are working on retrieving different genetic memories from all kinds of different people."
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is due out in the U.S. on October 29 and in Europe on November 1. The game puts players in the well-worn boots of pirate-turned-assassin Edward Kenway, the grandfather of ACIII’s Connor, as he plunders and stabs his way through the Caribbean on board his ship, the Jackdaw.
