PS4 Battlefield 4 confirmed to run at 60fps

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Battlefield 4 will run at 60fps, an article on GameInformer has confirmed.

Battlefield 4 will support dynamic maps, such as real-time weather change. GI gives an example of a battle that is set on a tropical island, which starts off with the sun-baked sands and calm wind.

However, as the battle gets underway, the weather quickly transitions into a full-blown storm, complete with oppressive, dark clouds.

Currently in development at DICE, Battlefield 4 takes place six years after its predecessor, with players assuming the role of U.S. special operations squad member Daniel Recker. The single-player campaign again features vehicles, with gamers also able to dive and shoot underwater to avoid detection.

Multiplayer-wise, Battlefield 4 packs three playable factions, namely the U.S., China and Russia. Next-generation versions of the game support up to 64 players, as does the PC release. Battlefield 2142’s Commander Mode also makes a return, offering a RTS-like view of the proceedings.

Battlefield 4 is due out alongside PS4 on November 15 in the U.S. and November 29 in Europe.
