PlayStation 4’s cross-game chat feature will support up to eight players, according to Sony Computer Entertainment Social Media boss, Sid Shuman.
“Party Voice Chat will support up to 8 players on PS4, like PS Vita,” wrote Shuman, in a post on the PlayStation Blog.
Cross-game chat was one of the most lamentable omissions from the PS3, with many gamers having requested the feature over the years. However, Sony confirmed that its next-generation console will finally implement Party Chat, which allows gamers to converse even if they aren’t playing the same game.
PS4 is scheduled for release in the U.S. on November 15 and in the U.K. and Europe on November 29.
While boasting a strong line-up, it was announced last week that two major planned PS4 launch titles – Watch Dogs and DriveClub – have been pushed back into spring and early 2014, respectively.
