PS4-exclusive Horizon: Zero Dawn runs at 1080p/30fps

Guerrilla Games has confirmed that its upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive actioner Horizon: Zero Dawn will run at 1080p/30fps.

Speaking with VideoGamer at E3 2015 this week, the Amsterdam-based studio also confirmed that the highly anticipated action-RPG runs on a modified version of the Killzone: Shadow Fall.

"It is actually still the same engine but then [there is] an enormous leap from Shadow Fall to this," said the game’s Art Director, Jan-Bart van Beek. "The Shadow Fall engine isn’t an open-world streaming world engine so for the last two years a lot of technological effort has gone into actually being able to make it work like this."

Horizon was unveiled after years of speculation during Sony’s E3 2015 press conference Monday evening. The game will be released in 2016 and takes place in a post-apocalyptic open-world ravaged by machines.
