In SteamWorld Dig you’ll assume the role of Rusty, a mining steambot whose digging expertise will find him ferreting the earth below for riches and dangers, assisting an old mining town nestled above.
Brjann Sigurgeirsson, CEO at Image & Form Games, describes SteamWorld Dig as "a mining platform adventure [in which] the objective is mining, the controls are those of a platformer, and it’s a story-driven game with a defined beginning and end. You dig down, find gems and minerals, get back up to the surface, sell the loot to upgrade your equipment, and go back down again. Both soil and enemies get tougher the further down you go, and also other aspects of the environment."
SteamWorld Dig carries a vibrant look that will sit well on a Vita screen. The Swedish game developer is elated to be servicing PlayStation gamers, and the team has been hard at work laboring over this long-awaited port. The game will also be making its HD handheld debut, and you can witness the crisp visuals in motion with the trailer below.
There are multiple ways of entering. We’ll be giving codes out via Twitter (@PSUdotcom) throughout the day.
