Sony’s new PS4 Remote Play-compatible smartphone, formerly known as the Xperia Z3, will be released in the U.S. on October 23, 2014.
Priced $199 with a Verizon contract, the smartphone has had a name change to the Xperia Z3v. A DualShock 4 controller mount will be available as an added extra priced $40, allowing users to utilse PS4’s Remote Play function to stream a variety of games from the console.
Boasting a quad-core processor and 3 GB of RAM, the Xperia Z3v has a 1920 × 1080 display, supports high resolution audio files and is both dustproof and waterproof. The powerful 3,200 mAh battery should also ensure that gaming sessions aren’t cut short.
There’s a sign up page on the Verizon website for consumers to receive more information.
